The Scarf is Finished
Though for a while I thought the scarf would never be long enough for him, he pronounced it long enough at 5 feet. The original pattern calls for 32 stitches across. I made him a short sample and told him I could increase it in increments of 4 stitches. He asked if I could put 4 stitches on each side. I said no, but I could put 8 in the middle.
Thanks again to Beth for the pattern.
Though he was surprised that I wanted to put a photo on the blog, he agreed to take this photo for me with the new camera we gave him as a graduation/Christmas/Bon Voyage present.
I know I am taking a risk putting up Evan's picture, but he is 19, I have his permission, and he is about to leave the country...and he does have such lovely eyes. I find I can't resist.
Handsome young man, that nephew of yours! And that scarf does bring out those striking eyes of his. What a lovely gift.
ReplyDeleteThat scarf really complements his beautiful eyes. Congrats on getting it done in time :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great scarf. The color is perfect for his eyes. He'll be charming the guys with it.
ReplyDeleteReally nice!
ReplyDeleteboth the scarf and the young man.
Good job!
Oh yeah, the first thing I thought was "Great eyes", followed immediately by beautiful scarf.
ReplyDeleteI am wanting to learn to knit -- I used to know basic stuff when I was a kid, My grandmother taught me. Last summer I bouth needles and some yarn, but that is as far as I got. Maybe soon I'll get a chance.
Love the picture, and he has eyes to fall in love with :) and the colour in the scarf brings his eyes out beautifully.
